“The Petroglyph Pyramids”

Proposed Sculptures
Pearl City Cultural Center

A dramatic pair of pyramids rising 9 feet and 7 feet high, respectively from base to tip, were designed to mark the site of the Pearl City Cultural Center.
Each pyramid has geometric asymmetrical sides, the longest of which is 18 feet at base.
Embedded in the rock-like surfaces are broken ceramic tiles forming petroglyph figures reflective of the ancient Hawaiian art form.

The powerful pyramidal forms, symbolic of Hawaii’s volcanic mountains,
read clearly from a distance are designed to give a striking landmark reference to the Cultural Center.
